DESCRIPTION
Berkeley professor Lee Tomlinson is in Moscow to research a book he hopes will defibrillate his flat-lining career when someone slips a classified file into his briefcase. Filled with documents on the Red Army’s 1945 siege of Berlin, the file contradicts the accepted history of Nazi Germany’s demise. It is a stunning revelation. But is it true? And why has it been given to Tomlinson, more than six decades after the war? Attempting to answer these questions, Tomlinson treads onto dangerous terrain where secret organizations carry out Orwellian plots to control the future by controlling the past. Pursued by government operatives and rogue agents, Tomlinson flees from the streets of Moscow to the quays of Paris and ultimately to the University of California campus where he uncovers the truth beneath all the lies, a truth that would cause Lady Liberty to weep in shame.

To be honest, I have never been a big fan of history and at first I dreaded having to read a novel based on historical events when it was assigned to us by professor McElderry. But to my surprise, the Barcelona File was written in such a fast-paced and entertaining way that I did not find myself bored even for a single moment while I was reading it. In fact, it almost fell like I was watching a 007 movie.Besides being well-written, Mr. McElderry also proposes a controversial theory which will definitely question the authenticity of all the history lessons you have been taught in your school or college. In conclusion, it was a very thought provoking novel which left me with some great life lessons.
